Decrease in prices for Container Freight charges

As China’s holiday exporting season slows, shipping container prices fall for the first time this year.  Since the end of September, the average sale price of a 40-foot container in China has dropped by 22.5 percent. The drop in shipping freight costs between China and the United States coincided with the price adjustment in container markets.  As retailers stock up ahead of the holidays, the falling prices may now become the new normal. This could mark the beginning of the market’s stabilization.  In addition, middlemen have pushed up prices in China by hoarding and speculating on container units amid strong demand and tight supplies, exporters say. Shipping costs have become one of the biggest problems facing the Chinese supply chain, with prices of low-cost goods rising.
